The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest in a homicide that occurred in 2022, in Southeast.
On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at approximately 3:53 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the 1000 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 57-year-old Charles Davis, of Southeast, DC.
On Thursday, December 11, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant 33-year-old Antoine Gray of Southeast, D.C. was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
