December 16, 2019 to December 23, 2019

 

(Washington, DC) – Every day, the Metropolitan Police Department works to recover and investigate illegal firearms in Washington D.C. In addition to our patrol officers, the Department has specialized units—such as the Gun Recovery Unit (GRU), Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU), and Crime Suppression Teams (CSTs)—who work tirelessly to safely and respectfully secure illegal firearms and get them off of our streets. From Monday, December 16, 2019, through Monday, December 23, 2019, MPD detectives and officers recovered 30 firearms in the District of Columbia.

Tuesday, December 17, 2019

  • A Glock 27 .40 caliber handgun was recovered in the 200 block of V Street, Northeast. The following person was arrested: 25-year-old Oshe Randy Monroe, of Northwest, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.  CCN: 19-224-470
  • A Taurus 709 Slim 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 1100 block of 3rd Street, Southwest. The following person was arrested: 24-year-old Jebron Holmes, of Southeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance while Armed, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Consumption of Marijuana in a Public Space. Wednesday, December 18, 2019

  • A Heckler & Koch USP compact .40 caliber handgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 1700 block of West Virginia Avenue, Northeast. The following person was arrested: 18-year-old Deshawn Raphael Loggins, of Temple Hills, MD, for Carrying a Pistol without a License.  CCN: 19-224-931

 

  • A Glock 27 .40 caliber handgun and a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun (both pictured below) were recovered in the Unit block of L Street, Northwest.  The following people were arrested: 28-year-old Antonio Randolph Smith, of Northeast, D.C, 27-year-old Demann Kenneth Shelton, of Southeast, D.C., and 25-year-old Marquis Clifton-Gerry Payne, of Northeast, for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession, Assault on a Police Officer, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.  CCN: 19-225-009

 

  • A Springfield Armory XP-9 9mm caliber handgun and a Sturm Ruger 22LR .22 caliber handgun were recovered in the 4000 block of Blakney Lane, Southeast. The following person was arrested: 24-year-old Jebron Holmes, of Northeast, D.C., for Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of Unregistered Firearm, and Possession of with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance while Armed.   • A Taurus G2C .40 caliber handgun was recovered in the 3600 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast. The following person was arrested: 21-year-old Dangelo Holmes Wynn, of Southwest, D.C., for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Pistol without a License. CCN: 19-225-187
  • A Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southeast. The following person was arrested: 17-year-old male juvenile, of Southeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License in a Gun Free School Zone, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a an Unregistered Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Resisting Arrest. CCN: 19-225-388
  • A Springfield Armory XDM .40 caliber handgun and a Taurus PT 840c .40 caliber handgun were recovered in the 4800 block of 5th Street, Northwest. The following people were arrested: 19-year-old Jared Holloway, of Mitchellville, MD, 27-year-old Jamie Goglia, of Northwest, D.C., 18-year-old Javon Otey, of Northwest, D.C., and 16-year-old male, of Northwest, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol.  CCN: 19-225-380

  • A Glock 23 .40 caliber handgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 1800 block of Corcoran Street, Northeast. The following person was arrested: 18-year-old Andre David Johnson, of Northeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.  CCN: 19-225-855

 

  • A Smith & Wesson MP Shield 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 1400 block of U Street, Northwest. The following person was arrested: 50-year-old Eric Landon Smith, of Temple Hills, MD, for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Receiving Stolen Property. Friday, December 20, 2019

  • A Smith & Wesson Magnum .357 caliber revolver (pictured below) was recovered in the 1400 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast. The following person was arrested: 20-year-old Dasia Arrington, of Northeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Possession of Unregistered Ammunition.   • A Taurus G2c 9mm caliber handgun with mounted laser sight (pictured below) was recovered in the Unit block of Channing Street, Northeast. The following person wase arrested: 24-year-old Michael Delonta Starks, of Northwest, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Felon in Possession, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.   • An O.F. Mossberg & Sons .410 caliber shotgun and a Winchester 69a .22 caliber bolt action rifle (both pictured below) were recovered in the 4600 block of 49th Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-226-320

 

  • A Smith & Wesson SW40VE .40 caliber handgun and a Smith & Wesson SW40VE .40 caliber handgun were recovered in the 1000 block of Mt. Olivet Road, Northeast. The following people were arrested: 25-year-old Jayvon Williams, of Northeast, D.C. and 26-year-old Stephon Harrigan, of Northeast, D.C., for Felon in Possession, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and Parole Violation.   • A Smith & Wesson .380 caliber handgun and a Century Arms Inc. 9mm caliber handgun were recovered in the 5300 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.  The following people were arrested: 18-year-old Doamonte Dashawn Douglas, of Temple Hills, MD, and 39-year old Glen Alfred Smith, of Northwest, D.C., for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and Felon in Possession.  CCN: 19-226-590
  • A Glock 36 .45 caliber handgun was recovered in the 1400 block of Madison Street, Northwest.  The following person was arrested: 17-year-old male juvenile, of Cheverly, MD, for Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm.  CCN: 19-226-742
  • A Glock 19 .177 caliber BB gun was recovered in the 100 block of 58th Street, Southeast.  The following person was arrested: 33-year-old Joseph Delonte Bennett, of Southeast, D.C., for Possession of Unregistered Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.  CCN: 19-226-160

 

Saturday, December 21, 2019

  • A Taurus G2C 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 4300 block of 3rd Street, Northwest. The following person was arrested: 26-year-old Lonnell Onterio Williams, of Northwest, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, Permit Revoked, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.   • A Taurus Raging Bull Casull .454 caliber revolver was recovered in the 700 block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast. CCN: 19-226-880
  • A STI Tac Master 1911 Airsoft handgun was recovered in the 5400 block of 5th Street, Northwest.  The following person was arrested: 40-year-old Maurice Anthony Terrell, of Northeast, D.C., for Possession of a BB gun.  CCN: 19-226-824

 

Monday, December 23, 2019

  • A Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 1000 block of H Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-228-089
  • A Glock 19 9mm caliber handgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 1500 block of F Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-228-215

 

  • A Rock Island Armory .38 caliber revolver was recovered in the 4700 block of 1st Street, Southwest. CCN: 19-228-339
  • A Mossberg 500A 12 gauge shotgun was recovered in the 900 block of K Street, Northeast. The following person was arrested: 41-year-old Terrence Andre Hines, of Northeast, D.C., for Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. It is one of MPD’s main goals to safely remove illegal firearms from DC streets to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the community. The responsibility to recover firearms falls on the -shoulders of all MPD officers. We also thank members of the community for their help in creating safe neighborhoods.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department also recovers firearms with the assistance of anonymous tips made through MPD’s anonymous tip line. Anyone who has information regarding gun recoveries should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information July be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $2,500 to anyone who provides information that leads to the recovery of an illegal firearm hidden in the District of Columbia.
