MPD’s Real Time Crime Center Assists in Arrests of Armed Carjacking Suspects

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrests of two teens for armed carjacking offenses in Southeast.

 

On Monday, July 1, 2024, at approximately 3:47 p.m., the victim was robbed of his scooter in the 1100 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast.

 

During the investigation, a second victim approached officers and reported two suspects attempted to carjack his scooter near the 1000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The suspects fled without obtaining the second victim’s property.

 

MPD’s Real Time Crime Center quickly voiced a lookout and location of the suspects to responding officers. Moments later, officers located both suspects and placed them under arrest and recovered a replica firearm.

 

As a result of the detective’s investigation, 19-year-old Jacorri Stroman of Northeast, and 18-year-old Marion Austin of Suitland, MD, were charged with Armed Carjacking, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, No Permit, Receiving Stolen Property. Stroman was additionally charged with Possession of a BB Gun.

 

The investigation also revealed Austin was wanted for a offenses in Prince George’s County, and was additionally charged with Fugitive from Justice.
