Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District announce a man has been arrested for a shooting that occurred in the 5800 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, Northeast.
On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at approximately 3:49 p.m., the victim attempted to confront the suspect about running a stop sign. The suspect exited his vehicle brandishing a firearm. The victim fled and the suspect followed the victim and once again exited his vehicle, this time shooting at the victim. The victim was not injured but his vehicle did sustain damage from the gunshots.
On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, pursuant to a juvenile custody order an 18-year-old male of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). At the time of the offense, he was a juvenile.
