Man Arrested in 2009 Homicide in Northeast

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch announce the arrest of a man for a 2009 Homicide.

On Thursday December 31, 2009, Fourth District officers responded to the 200 block of Webster Street Northeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located 19-year-old Emmanuel Durant, Jr. of Northeast, DC, in the 200 block of Hawaii Avenue, Northeast, suffering from gunshot wound injuries, he was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

On Friday, October 20, 2023, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fugitive Unit took custody of 40-year-old Randolph Thomas, Jr. of Southeast, DC. He was transported to the Homicide Branch where he was charged with First Degree Murder While Armed—Felony Murder.
