Homicide: 3900 Block of East Capitol Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, in the 3900 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast.

At approximately 11:58 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members canvased the area and located an unconscious adult male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. A second adult male victim was located on the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. He received treatment at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 22 year-old Semaj Alsobrooks, of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
