Homicide: 3600 Block of 6th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, October 14, 2018, in the 3600 block of 6th Street, Southeast.

 

At approximately 9:37 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, inside of a residence, suffering from trauma. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. The detectives’ investigation indicates that the offense occurred inside of a residence.

 

On Thursday, February 28, 2019, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

 

An autopsy was performed by the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. As a result, the cause of death was ruled as complications from closed head trauma. The manner of death was ruled a Homicide.

 

The decedent has been identified as 68 year-old Louis Lorimer, of Southeast, DC.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
