Homicide: 3000 Block of 30th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, November 29, 2019, in the 3000 block of 30th Street, Southeast.

 

At approximately 10:51 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location after hearing the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. A short time later, another adult male was located at a nearby fire station also suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that the adult male victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The other two victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

 

The decedent has been identified as 28 year-old Michael Cunningham, of Northeast, DC.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
