Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, in the 1500 block of 45th Street, Northeast.
At approximately 10:31 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots in the 4400 block of Douglas Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 1500 block of 45th Street, Northeast. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
- Thursday, August 15, 2019, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Alonzo Hines, Jr., of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
