Homicide: 1500 Block of 18th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, August 17, 2019, in the 1500 block of 18th Street, Southeast.

 

At approximately 3:05 am, members of the Sixth District responded to the 1700 block of Q Street, Southeast for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 1500 block of 18th Street, Southeast. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.  

 

The decedent has been identified as 28 year-old William Roland, of Southeast, DC.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
