Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fourth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying an armed robbery suspect and locating a dog that was stolen during the robbery.
On Saturday, October 21, 2023, at approximately 10:18 p.m., the suspect approached the victim from behind while she was walking her dog in the 300 block of Galloway Street, Northeast. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded the victim’s dog. During the robbery the victim attempted to retrieve her dog from the suspect and was assaulted. The suspect took the dog and fled in an awaiting vehicle.
The dog, “Max”, is described as a 14-year-old male West Highland Terrier. He is all white with a distinctive scar under his right eye. A picture of Max can be seen below.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
