*Decedent Identified* MPD Investigating Southeast Homicide

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast, D.C.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at approximately 12:53 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to the 3300 block of D Street, Southeast, for the report of a shooting inside of a residence. When officers arrived, they found three victims with gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Despite all lifesaving efforts, one of the victims, an adult male, succumbed to their injuries. The third victim was treated on the scene by DC Fire and EMS for minor injuries.

decedent has been identified as 48-year-old Detrick Ealy of no fixed address.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
