Arrests Made in Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

 

First District:

 

  • On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, 32 year-old Travis Cole, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for Attempt to Commit Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in the 300 block of I Street, Northwest. CCN: 21-008-473
    • At approximately 12:35 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect attempted to snatch the victim’s property then fled the scene. No property was obtained. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

 

  • On Thursday, January 21, 2021, 30 year-old Samuel Ragsdale, of no fixed address, was arrested for Robbery offenses that occurred on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the following locations:
    • Assault with Intent to Rob: At approximately 11:00 pm, the suspect approached the victim in the 300 block of H Street, Northeast. The suspect brandished a handgun and attempted to take the victim’s property. The victim was able to flee the scene. No property was obtained. CCN: 21-009-171
    • Armed Robbery (Gun): At approximately 11:04 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and assaulted the victim. The suspect then took the victim’s property and fled the scene. CCN: 21-009-167

 

Fourth District:

 

  • On Thursday, January 21, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 24 year-old Oshai Brewer, of Northwest, DC, was arrest for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Sunday, December 27, 2020, in the 4400 block of Iowa Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 20-183-126
    • At approximately 3:59 pm, the victim and suspect agreed to meet at the listed location to conduct a transaction using the Instagram online application. When the victim arrived, the suspect approached the victims, brandished a knife, then demanded the victim’s property. The suspect took the victim’s property and then fled the scene.

 

Sixth District:

 

  • On Monday, January 18, 2021, a 15 year-old juvenile female, of Fort Washington, MD, was arrested for two Armed Robbery (Gun) offenses that occurred in the 1100 block of 48th Street, Northeast.
    • On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at approximately 11:18 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished handguns and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-143-217
    • On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at approximately 12:30 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-143-223
