Arrests Made in Robbery and Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offenses in the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Districts

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announces two arrests has been made in reference to multiple Robbery and Armed Carjacking (Gun) offenses that occurred in the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Districts.

Fourth District:

  • Assault with Intent to Rob: On Monday, May 18, 2020, at approximately 12:25 am, the suspects approached the victim in the 4600 block of Arkansas Avenue, Northwest. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and assaulted the victim. The suspects attempted to take the victim’s property then fled the scene. No property was obtained. CCN: 20-073-646

 

  • Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Monday, May 25, 2020, at approximately 4:50 am, the suspects approached two victims, sitting in their vehicle, in the 4900 block of North Capitol Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victims’ vehicle. The victims complied and the suspects fled the scene in the vehicle. This case remains under investigation. On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 15 year-old juvenile male and a 13 year-old juvenile male, both of Northeast, DC, were arrested and charged with the above offenses. Additionally, the same 15 year-old juvenile male was charged with the below offenses:

Third District

  • Robbery (Force and Violence): On Monday, April 6, 2020, at approximately 6:30 am, the suspects approached the victim in the 1700 block of Park Road, Northwest. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-055-506

 

Fourth District:

  • Armed Robbery (Gun): On Monday, May 25, 2020, at approximately 1:54 am, the suspect approached the victim in the 1500 block of Upshur Street, Northwest. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect then snatched the victim’s property and fled the scene. CCN: 20-077-085

 

Fifth District:

  • Robbery (Force and Violence): On Monday, April 6, 2020, at approximately 12:15 pm, the suspects approached two victims in the 1300 block of Newton Street, Northeast. The suspects assaulted the victims and took the victims’ property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-055-616

 

  • Armed Robbery (Knife): On Monday, May 18, 2020, at approximately 1:36 am, the suspects approached the victim in the 100 block of Franklin Street, Northeast. The suspects brandished a knife and took the victim’s property. The suspects fled the scene. CCN: 20-073-657

 

Additionally, the same 13 year-old juvenile male was charged with the below offense:

Fifth District:

  • Assault with Intent to Rob: On Sunday, May 17, 2020, at approximately 12:06 pm, the suspects approached the victim in the 2800 block of 8th Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a bat and assaulted the victim. The suspects then fled the scene. No property was obtained. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-073-388
