Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
First District:
- On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, 33 year-old Markita Williams, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery offense that occurred on Sunday, February 23, 2020, in the 1900 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 20-034-946
- At approximately 6:30 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect took property from the victim and then fled the scene.
Second District:
- On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, a 17-year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 16, 2020, in the 3900 block of Chesapeake Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-028-349
- At approximately 6:20 pm, four suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and then took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
Third District:
- On Thursday, February 27, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Thursday, February 27, 2020, in the 3000 block of 14th Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-035-616
- At approximately 8:20 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
Sixth District:
- On Monday, February 24, 2020, 66 year-old Clifton Gorham, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Pickpocket) offense that occurred on Monday, February 24, 2020, in the 5000 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 20-033-360
- At approximately 10:59 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect removed the victim’s property from their person then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
- On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 20 year-old William Williams, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, November 15, 2019, in the 900 block of 52nd Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-204-383
- At approximately 4:12 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property from the victim. The suspects took property from the victim and then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
- On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, in the 3600 block of Hayes Street, Northeast. CCN: 20-034-789
- At approximately 3:54 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect snatched the victim’s property then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
