Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
First District:
- On Friday, December 27, 2019, 25 year-old Kenneth Jarrod Phipps, of No Fixed Address, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, December 27, 2019, in the 700 block of North Capitol Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-230-346
- At approximately 8:25 pm, the suspect brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
Third District:
- On Saturday, December 28, 2019, a 14 year-old Juvenile Male, of Northeast, DC, and a 13 year-old Juvenile Male, of Northwest, DC, were arrested for an Armed Robbery (Sharp Object) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2019, in the 3100 block of 13th Street, Northwest. Additionally, on Thursday, January 2, 2020, a 15 year old Juvenile Male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested in this case. CCN: 19-230-783
- At approximately 3:00 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a sharp object and stabbed the victim. The suspects took the victim’s property then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
Fifth District:
- On Tuesday, December 31, 2019, a 13 year-old Juvenile Male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, in the 2100 block of I Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-232-656
- At approximately 7:00 pm, the suspect assaulted the victim and took their property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
Sixth District:
- On Tuesday, December 31, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 22 year-old Jerald Rich, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for two Armed Robbery (Gun) offenses that occurred in the Sixth District. Both cases remain under investigation.
- On Thursday, December 12, 2019, at approximately 9:40 am, two suspects approached the victim in the 5200 block of E Street, Southeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took property from the victim and then fled the scene. CCN: 19-221-189
- On Friday, December 13, 2019, at approximately 9:20 am, two suspects approached two victims in the 5100 block of F Street, Southeast. The suspects brandished handguns and demanded the victims’ property. The suspects took property from the victims and then fled the scene. CCN:19-221-881
- On Wednesday, January 1, 2020, 30 year-old Bernard Smith, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Attempted Armed Robbery offense that occurred on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, in the 3700 block of Benning Road, Northeast. CCN: 20-000-268
- At approximately 5:12 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim refused and fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
