Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
First District:
· On Thursday, April 11, 2019, 20 year-old Albert Coachman, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, April 11, 2019, in the 500 block of 12th Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-061-118
o At approximately 12:25 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun. The victim gave her phone to the suspect. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
Third District:
· On Friday, April 5, 2019, 28 year-old Keyona Natasha Riddick, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, March 22, 2019, in the 2200 block of 14th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-048-347
o At approximately 4:06 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded that the victim give her U.S. currency. The victim complied and the suspect then fled the scene.
· On Thursday, April 4, 2019, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Thursday, March 28, 2019, in the 1100 block of Lamont Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-052-322
o At approximately 5:43 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects took the victim’s property then fled the scene. One suspect was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.
· On Saturday, April 6, 2019, 18 year-old Marques Drake, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, April 5, 2019, in the 1300 block of Irving Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-057-468
o At approximately 3:37 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene.
Fourth District:
· On Saturday, April 6, 2019, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, and a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC were arrested for an Attempted Robbery While Armed (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, April 6, 2019, in the 4600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 19-058-206
o At approximately 5:48 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects demanded the victim’s property. The victim refused to comply. One of the suspects then brandished a handgun and threatened the victim. The suspects fled the scene without taking property from the victim. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
· On Monday, April 8, 2019, 18- year-old Kevin Diaz, of Wheaton, MD; a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC; a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC; and 21- year-old Jose Magdealo Guevara, of Southeast, DC were arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Monday, April 8, 2019, in the 3800 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 19-059-422
o At approximately 4:30 pm, six suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied. The suspects then fled the scene. Four of the suspects were apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.
Sixth District:
· On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, and a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, were arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, in the 4200 block of Clay Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-060-060
o At approximately 4:09 pm, two suspects approached the victims at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victims and took U.S. currency. The suspects then fled the scene. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
· On Sunday, April 7, 2019, 42-year-old Jabari Gamba Tabu Taylor, of Capitol Heights, MD, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in the 900 block of 52nd Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-058-543
o At approximately 6:02 pm, the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal dispute at the listed location. The suspect took the victim’s property and fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
