Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
First District:
- On Saturday, March 16, 2019, 30 year-old Darin Xarie Williams, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, March 15, 2019, in the 900 block of G Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-044-402
- At approximately 11:58 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded US currency. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.
- On Thursday, March 20, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 17-year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC was arrested for two Robbery offenses that occurred in the First District.
- Assault with Intent to Rob: On Monday, November 19, 2018, at approximately 4:36 pm, the suspect approached the victim in the 1400 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast. The suspect took the victim’s cell phone and then assaulted the victim. The suspect dropped the cell phone and fled the scene. CCN: 18-197-022
- Armed Robbery (Gun): On Friday, November 30, 2018, at approximately 9:30 am, the suspect approached the victim in the 200 block of Kentucky Avenue, Southeast. The suspect demanded US currency and brandished a handgun. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene. CCN: 18-203-250
Second District:
- On Thursday, March 21, 2019, a 13-year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, a 15-year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, and a 16-year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in the 1300 block of 19th Street, Northwest. - At approximately 11:34 pm, a group of suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim, took the victim’s property then fled the scene. Three suspects were apprehended by responding officers.
Third District:
- On Saturday, March 16, 2019, 40 year-old Michael Walthall, of no fixed address, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) and an Aggravated Assault offense that occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2019, in the 3100 block of Mount Pleasant Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-042-960
- At approximately 1:25 am, the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal dispute in an establishment at the listed location. During the dispute, the suspect assaulted the victim and took property then fled the scene.
- On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in the 1600 block of Lamont Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-047-143
- At approximately 4:22 pm, three suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects took the victim’s property then fled the scene. One of ths suspects was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.
Fifth District:
- On Tuesday, March 19, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 38 year-old Melvin Bryant Brown Jr., of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in the 700 block of 18th Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-034-128
O At approximately 1:26 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took US currency. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle.
- On Sunday, March 17, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 20 year-old Demarco Amani Fox., of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, February 25, 2019, in the 3100 block of Apple Road, Northeast. CCN: 19-033-211
- At approximately 7:20 pm, four suspects were with the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. This case remains under investigation.
- On Thursday, March 21, 2019, 18 year-old Savion Ahmad Gross, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, March 15, 2019, in the 100 block of T Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-043-893
O At approximately 11:30 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One suspect brandished a knife and demanded US currency. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
- On Thursday, March 21, 2019, 19 year-old Eamon McCaffrey, of Alexandria, VA, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Thursday, March 21, 2019, in the 600 block of Monroe Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-047-824
O At approximately 6:05 pm, the victim met the two suspects at the listed location to sell his shoes. One suspect snatched the shoes from the victim and both suspects fled the scene. One of the suspects was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.
