Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
First District:
On Friday, February 1, 2019, 18-year-old Antonio Curtis, of Southeast, DC, and 18-year-old Tyrell Raynard Smith, of Southeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, February 1, 2019, in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 19-018-599
At approximately 3:25 pm, the suspects entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 22-year-old Joy Betty Jean Taplett, of Southeast, DC, and 19-year-old Tanzania Hardy, of Northeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, in the 800 block of 7th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-021-662
At approximately 4:20 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene.
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, 18-year-old Isaac Antwain Pearson III, of Northeast, DC, a 16-year-old Juvenile Male, of Northwest, DC, and a 16-year-old Juvenile Male, of Southeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Thursday, February 7, 2019, in the Unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast. At approximately 7:28 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene.
Second District:
On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, 22-year-old Marcus Mathes, of Southeast, DC, and 26-year-old Darnice Daniels, of Southeast, DC, were arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 3, 2019, in the 1400 block of 14th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-019-629
At approximately 11:20 am, the suspects entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene.
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, 46-year-old James Earl Sutton, of no fixed address, was arrested for an Attempted Robbery offense that occurred on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, in the 4500 block 40th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-020-853
At approximately 1:21 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect demanded the victim’s property and assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
Third District:
On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 23-year-old Deante Rogers, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery while Armed (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, November 25, 2016, in the 1600 block of V Street, Northwest. CCN: 16-200-333
At approximately 7:28 pm, the suspects approached the victims at the listed location. The suspects threatened the victims, brandished knives towards the victims, and took the victims’ property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
Sixth District:
On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, 23-year-old Nakkia Terrell Cain, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Thursday, January 31, 2019, in the 5300 block of Clay Terrace, Northwest. CCN: 19-017-874
At approximately 12:33 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One suspect demanded property and threatened the victim. The suspects then assaulted the victim, took property then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
On Friday, February 8, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 18-year-old Meyona Rorie, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery While Armed (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, October 12, 2018, in the 100 block of Ridge Road, Southeast. CCN: 18-173-420
At approximately 9:11 pm, three suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One suspect brandished a handgun and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
On Saturday, February 9, 2019, a 17-year-old Juvenile Male, of Northeast, DC and a 15-year-old Juvenile Male, of Suitland, MD, were arrested for a Robbery While Armed (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, February 9, 2019, in the 3400 block of Ely Place, Southeast. CCN: 19-023-380
At approximately 12:32 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One suspect brandished a handgun and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene.
Seventh District:
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 23-year-old Melvin Ricardo Henderson, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Saturday, February, 2, 2019, in the 1500 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast.. CCN: 19-019-286
At approximately 6:46 pm, the suspect assaulted the victim and took property from the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
On Friday, February 8, 2019, 18-year-old Keon Smith, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, February, 6, 2019, in the 2900 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 19-021-855
At approximately 7:44 pm, the suspects assaulted the victim and took property from the victim. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
