Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District announce arrests have been made in reference to a Burglary One offense that occurred on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in the 1300 block of Orren Street, Northeast.
At approximately 5:31 pm, multiple suspects gained entry to an occupied residence at the listed location. Once inside, the suspects were involved in an altercation with the victims. During the altercation, multiple suspects assaulted the victims. Additionally, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and another suspect brandished a knife while threatening the victims. The suspects then fled the scene
On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, 20 year-old Lawrence Shorter, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One and Simple Assault. Additionally, 28 year-old Dequan Centrell Washington, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
This case remains under investigation.
