Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division announce arrests have been made in reference to Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Carjacking offenses in the Fourth and Fifth Districts.
Fifth District:
- Theft One (Stolen Auto): On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at approximately 8:01 pm, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle in the 100 block of Quincy Place, Northeast. The suspect took the vehicle’s keys and drove off with the vehicle. CCN: 20-062-257
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun): On Friday, April 24, 2020, at approximately 7:16 pm, the suspect brandished a handgun and threatened the victims in the 300 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast. The suspect fled the scene. There were no injuries reported. CCN: 20-063-124
- Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Saturday, April 25, 2020, at approximately 7:14 am, the suspect opened the door of the victim’s occupied vehicle in the 1700 block of 2nd Street, Northeast. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. CCN: 20-063-340
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun): On Sunday, April 26, 2020, at approximately 2:08 pm, the suspect fired gunshots at the victim’s occupied vehicle in the 100 block of U Street, Northeast. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle. There were no injuries reported. CCN: 20-063-822
On Monday, April 27, 2020, a 13 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Theft One (Stolen Auto), Armed Carjacking (Gun), and two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). Additionally, he was charged with the below Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense.
Fourth District
- Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Monday, April 27, 2020, at approximately 6:19 am, the suspects exited a vehicle and approached the victim in the 4200 block of 12th Place, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. CCN: 20-064-072
On Monday, April 27, 2020, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Southwest, DC, was also arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
These cases remain under investigation.
