Arrest Made in an Unarmed Carjacking and Theft One (Stolen Auto) Offense in the Second District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Unarmed Carjacking and Theft One (Stolen Auto) offense that occurred on Friday, May 31, 2019 in the Second District.

 

At approximately 12:10 am, members of the Second District responded to a call for a stolen auto. Responding officers observed the stolen vehicle in the 900 block of F Street, Northwest. The vehicle fled and collided with a fixed object at 3rd and F Street, Northwest. The suspect fled from the vehicle on foot. The suspect then attempted to carjack a vehicle in the intersection of 2nd and Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

 

On Friday, May 31, 2019, 26-year-old Kenneth Devon Hendrix, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Unarmed Carjacking, Theft One (Stolen Auto), Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and Leaving After Colliding.
