Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fourth and Fifth Districts announce an arrest has been made in reference to two Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offenses that occurred in the Fourth and Fifth Districts.
Fourth District:
- Thursday, July 16, 2020, at approximately 10:33 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the 4400 block of 13th Street, Northeast, for the report of sound of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Fifth District:
- On Saturday, July 18, 2020, at approximately 6:02 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the 1400 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Friday, July 24, 2020, 59 year-old Rodney Cunningham, of Fairfax, VA, was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
