Arrest Made in a Sex Trafficking of Children and Travel with Intent to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct Offense

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department Youth and Family Services Division’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force have announced an arrest has been made in a Sex Trafficking of Children and Travel with Intent to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct offense that occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, in Northwest, DC.

At approximately 5:22 pm, the suspect contacted an undercover officer online for the purpose of engaging in a sexual act with a juvenile in the District of Columbia. The suspect was subsequently arrested by officers.

On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 48 year-old Makarand Manohar Dhavale, of Sterling, VA, was arrested and charged with Sex Trafficking of Children and Travel with Intent to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct.
