Arrest Made in Robbery Offenses in the Fifth and Sixth Districts

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth and Sixth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to multiple Robbery offenses that occurred in the Fifth and Sixth Districts at the following locations:

 

· Assault with Intent to Commit a Robbery: On Friday, December 28, 2018, at approximately 11:49 pm, in the 1400 block of Bruce Street, Southeast, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded US currency. The suspect then fled the scene without obtaining any property. CCN: 18-220-377

· Armed Robbery: On Saturday, December 29, 2018, at approximately 12:50 am, in the 900 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded property. The suspect took property then fled the scene in a vehicle. CCN: 18-220-399

· Armed Robbery of an Establishment: On Friday, December 28, 2018, at approximately 8:57 pm, in the 3100 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded US currency. The suspect then fled the scene with the victim’s property. CCN: 18-220-311

 

On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 48-year-old William Henry Barnes, Jr., of Northeast, DC was arrested and charged with two counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Assault with Intent to Commit a Robbery.
