Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division have announced an arrest has been made in reference to a Kidnapping/ Unarmed Carjacking offense that occurred on Monday, March 04, 2019, in the 1400 Block of Saratoga Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 9:30 am, the victim was tending to her child that was seated in her vehicle at the listed location. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and drove it away with the child still inside. The suspect parked the vehicle in the 1500 block of Evarts Street, Northeast. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. The child was not injured during the offense.
On Monday, March 04, 2019, 21-year-old Matthew Walker, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Kidnapping and Unarmed Carjacking.
