Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Thursday, April 30, 2020, in the 900 block of New Jersey Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 12:45 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult female, inside of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Resha Blount, of Northwest, DC.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 20 year-old Karlos Kinney, of Southeast, DC, was arrested by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF). He was charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
