Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, September 29, 2019, in the 600 block of S Street, Northwest.
At approximately 10:21 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 19 year-old Tahlil Byrd, of Southeast, DC.
On Monday, November 18, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19 year-old Adrian Vinson, was arrested by members of the Seventh District and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
