Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred Saturday, April 10, 2021, in the 3500 Block of Jay Street, Northeast
At approximately 12:49 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male victim suffering from a stab wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 16 year-old Marquette Galloway, of Northeast, DC.
On Sunday, April 11, 2021, a 15 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed. The detectives’ investigation revealed that this offense occurred inside of an apartment, at the listed location and was domestic in nature.
