Arrest Made in a Homicide: 3100 Block of Randle Place, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Sunday, July 28, 2019, in the 3100 block of Randle Place, Southeast.

At approximately 4:11 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a person down. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim, suffering from injuries consistent with an assault. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. On Monday, July 29, 2019, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 33 year-old Lucas Alonzo Thomas, of no fixed address.

On Monday, July 29, 2019, 34 year-old Michael Anthony Grant, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

This case remains under investigation.
