Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made regarding a fatal stabbing that occurred on Sunday, January 6, 2019, in the 2800 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest.
approximately 4:14 am, members of the Second District responded to a residential building, at the listed, for an investigate the trouble call. Upon arrival, members located an adult male, inside the hallway, suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 36 year-old Vongell Lugo, of Northwest, DC.
On Sunday, January 6, 2019, 26 year-old Collin J Potter of Quantico, VA, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
