Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest made in a homicide that occurred on Monday, May 30, 2022, in the 1700 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 4:30 am, members of the Second District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, June 16, 2022, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 29 year-old Christian Gabriel Monje, of Fairfax, VA.
On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 28-year-old James Carl Jackson, of Silver Spring, MD, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder While Armed – Felony Murder.
