Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest.
At approximately 10:48 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 28 year-old Shantal Hill, of Northwest, DC.
On Friday, May 8, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 20 year-old Carson Posey, of Northwest, DC, has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated). The detectives’ investigation revealed that this offense was domestic in nature.
