Arrest Made in a Homicide: 100 Block of 56th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, September 2, 2022, in the 100 block of 56th Street, Southeast.

 

At approximately 6:35 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a traffic accident. Upon arrival, members located an adult female victim suffering from apparent trauma. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

 

The decedent has been identified as 60-year-old Rebecca Manley, of Northeast, DC.

 

On Friday, September 2, 2022, 39-year-old Archie Moore, Jr., of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, Reckless Driving, and Driving Under the Influence.
