Arrest Made in Burglary Two and Theft One (Stolen Auto) Offenses in the Sixth and Seventh Districts

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division have announced an arrest has been made in reference to multiple Burglary Two and Theft One (Stolen Auto) offenses that occurred in the Sixth and Seventh Districts.

Sixth District:

  • Between Thursday, July 11, 2019, at approximately 11:50 pm, and Friday, July 12, 2019, at approximately 2:00 am, a suspect stole a vehicle in the 2400 block of T Street, Southeast, and then fled the scene. Theft One (Stolen Auto) CCN: 19-121-691

 

  • On Friday, July 12, 2019, at approximately 8:15 pm, suspects forcibly entered an establishment in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. Once inside, the suspects took an ATM and then fled the scene. Burglary Two CCN: 19-121-647

 

  • On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at approximately 5:00 pm, a suspect stole a vehicle in the 3400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast, and then fled the scene. Theft One (Stolen Auto) CCN: 19-193-963

 

  • On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at approximately 3:30 am, suspects entered an establishment in the 3400 block of Benning Road, Northeast. Once inside, the suspects took an ATM and then fled the scene. Burglary Two CCN: 19-193-523

 

  • On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at approximately 7:25 am, suspects entered an establishment in the 4600 block of Sheriff Road, Northeast. Once inside, the suspects attempted to take an ATM, and then fled the scene. Burglary Two CCN: 19-193-599

 

  • On Monday, November 11, 2019, at approximately 2:37 am, suspects forcibly entered an establishment in the 4200 block of Benning Road, Northeast. The suspects took an ATM and then fled the scene. Burglary Two CCN: 19-201-947

 

Seventh District:

  • On Friday, July 12, 2019, at approximately 12:59 am, suspects forcibly entered an establishment in the 1500 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast. Once inside, the suspects took an ATM and then fled the scene. Burglary Two CCN: 19-121-643

 

  • On Friday, October 4, 2019, at approximately 4:49 am, suspects forcibly entered an establishment in the 3900 block of South Capitol Street, Southwest. Once inside, the suspects took an ATM and then fled the scene. Burglary Two CCN: 16-176-935

 

On Friday, November 15, 2019, 27 year-old Ajaye Smith, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with the above offenses.

 

These cases remain under investigation.
