Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault With Intent to Rob while Armed (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, May 9, 2019, in the 1300 block of Columbia Road, Northwest.
At approximately 9:55 am, the suspect approached the victim, inside of a residential building, at the listed location. The suspect demanded the victim’s property. When the victim refused, the suspect assaulted the victim and brandished a handgun. As the victim and suspect struggled over the firearm, the firearm discharged, striking the victim and suspect. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect also sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported to an area hospital. A firearm was recovered from the scene.
On Thursday, May 9, 2019, 30 year-old William Galloway, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault With Intent to Rob while Armed (Gun).
