Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault With Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, January 30, 2020, in the 5300 block of E Street, Southeast.
At approximately 2:32 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 27 year-old Allen Richard Byrd, of Oxon Hill, MD. He was charged with Assault With Intent to Kill (Gun).
