Arrest Made in an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery Offense: 1300 Block of Okie Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District and Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery that occurred on Sunday, February 23, 2020, in the 1300 block of Okie Street, Northeast.

 

At approximately 2:22 pm, the suspects, who were in a vehicle, approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects exited the vehicle and approached the victim in an effort to take the victim’s property. One of the suspects brandished a handgun. A struggle ensued in which the victim took the handgun and shot both suspects. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the suspects to an area hospital, where one suspect succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The second suspect was treated for non-life threatening injuries and placed under arrest. A third victim was also treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

 

The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Daniel Jackson, of Southeast, DC.

 

On Sunday, February 23, 2020, 21 year-old Dominique Davis, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

 

This case remains under investigation.
