Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sexual Assault Unit announced an arrest has been made in connection with an Assault with Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Monday, May 6, 2019, in the 4600 block of H Street, Southeast.
At approximately 3:35pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim then attempted to sexually assault the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
On Monday, May 6, 2019, 36-year old Darrius Dwight Gallion, of Southeast, DC was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse.
