Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon offense that occurred on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, in the Unit block of H Street, Northwest.
At approximately 8:18 pm, the suspect entered an establishment and approached the victims at the listed location. The suspect brandished a tire iron and assaulted the victims. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding MPD officers and members of the United States Capitol Police. The victims both sustained non-life threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, 32 year-old Tony Dimango Morris, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
