Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 800 Block of Florida Avenue, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, January 25, 2019, in the 800 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 11:32 pm, the suspect and victim were engaged in a dispute at the listed location. During the dispute the suspect brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The suspect was then apprehended by responding officers. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

On Saturday, January 26, 2019, 30-year-old Nerida Diane Washington, of Waldorf, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
