Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 4400 Block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Monday, February 22, 2021, in the 4400 Block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, Northeast.

 

At approximately 4:29 pm, a suspect approached and assaulted the victim. A second suspect approached the victim, brandished a knife and threatened to stab the victim. One suspect fled the scene and the second suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

 

On Monday, February 22, 2021, 59 year-old Modesto Rivera, of Gaithersburg, MD was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).

 

This case remains under investigation.
