Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 1300 Block of North Capitol Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Monday, April 20, 2020, in the 1300 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest.

At approximately 2:00 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and threatened to stab the victim. The victim then fled for safety. No injuries were reported. The detectives’ investigation revealed that the suspect and victim were known to each other.

On Monday, April 20, 2020, 63 year-old Richard Hunter, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
