Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, October 17, 2019, in the 900 block of Division Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 6:12 am, the suspect and victim were involved in an altercation at the listed location. During the altercation, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and shot the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, 41 year-old Antonio Whitley, of Southeast, DC was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
This case remains under investigation.
