Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, May 8, 2020, in the 900 Block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast.
At approximately 2:45 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was apprehended by responding Fifth District officers. A handgun was recovered.
On Friday, May 8, 2020, 35 year-old Theodore Blandford, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Unregistered Firearm, Unregistered Ammunition, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
