Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2019, in the 5900 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 1:45 am, the suspect and victim were inside of an establishment at the listed location. During a verbal altercation, the suspect brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The suspect threatened the victim then fled the scene. Responding officers canvassed the area and apprehended the suspect. A firearm was recovered.
On Saturday, December 14, 2019, 29 year-old Tayvon Long, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol without a License.
