Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road, Southeast.
At approximately 9:01 am, the suspect exited the victim’s vehicle at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and fired several shots, striking the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, November 26, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 32 year-old Andre Smith, of Southeast, DC, was arrest and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
