Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and an Assault with Significant Injuries Offenses: 400 Block of 2nd Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense and an Assault with Significant Injuries offense that occurred in the 400 block of 2nd Street, Northwest.

                                                                                                                

  • On Sunday, June 28, 2020, at approximately 8:14 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of sounds of gunshots.  Upon arrival, officers located damaged vehicles.  Investigation on the scene revealed two suspects shooting firearms at each other.  No injuries were reported.  Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) CCN: 20-094-387

 

  • On Saturday, July 11, 2020, at approximately 3:15 pm, the victim was approached by three suspects at the listed location.  The suspects assaulted the victim and then fled the scene.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.  Assault with Significant Injuries CCN: 20-099-980

 

  • On Thursday, July 23, 2020, at approximately 7:15 pm, members of the First District stopped a suspect at the listed location in connection to the offenses listed above.  During the investigation, the suspect was found to be in possession of an illegal firearm and synthetic marijuana.  CCN: 20-105-571

 

On Thursday, July 23, 2020, 25 year-old Ronald Lee Yarborough, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Destruction of Property, Assault with Significant Bodily Injury, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession with Intent to Distribute Synthetic Marijuana with Armed, Possession of an Unlawful Firearm, Possession of Unlawful Ammunition, and Possession of a High Capacity Magazine.

 

These cases remain under investigation.
