Members of the ATF/DC Arson and Explosives Task Force, which includes members from MPD, DCFEMS, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Arson offense that occurred on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, in the 5000 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 10:44 pm, DC Fire and EMS and officers from the Second District, responded to an establishment, at the listed location, for the report of a fire. The fire had been extinguished prior to the arrival of responding units. There were no reported injuries. An investigation into the cause of the fire revealed it was intentionally set.
On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, pursuant to a US District Court arrest warrant, 22-year-old Ryan Jaselskis, of Sherman Oaks, CA, was charged with Arson.
