Arrest Made in Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offenses in the Fourth District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to Armed Carjacking (Gun) offenses that occurred in the Fourth District.

 

  • On Thursday, July 4, 2019 at approximately 11:42 pm, in the 1400 block of Oglethorpe Street, Northwest, three suspects approached the victim, who was inside his vehicle, at the listed location. The suspects threatened the victim and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and gave the suspects his vehicle. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. CCN: 19-116-430

 

  • On Thursday, July 4, 2019 at approximately 11:59 pm, in the 6600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, three suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and gave the suspects his vehicle. The suspects then fled the scene. CCN: 19-116-493

On Thursday, August 1, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 26 year-old Delonte Deangelo Curry of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with two counts of Armed Carjacking (Gun).

 

These cases remain under investigation.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
